Hash files with size greater than 2GB

In some instance Datastage jobs will fail when trying to create HASH files of size greater than 2GB, This limitation can be changed at server end(for all projects) OR for a specified file which has this issue, Here we walk thru the steps to change this setting at file level.

Step 1: Check the 64_BITFILES property of uvconfig in your $DSHOME directory, If your job is failing for a hash file size greater than 2GB then this property will be 0 (32 Bit), This can be changed to 1 by admins but requires a datastage engine STOP & START.

Step 2: Log into datastage administration, select the required project and click the command button

Step 3: Create the hash file using command CREATE.FILE FileName.HSH 30 64BIT, Here the 64 bit option supports file size more than 2GB by default

Step 4: Move the file from project location to hash file location using putty (do rename or delete the old file in hash file location before doing this)

Step 5: Do a reset and restart of the job which failed when creating hash file of size > 2GB, It should go fine now creating the required HASH file.
